4/22にAdmission Offerを貰い翌日には受諾した後、今後のプロセスがどうなるのか情報を待っていると2日後に一つのメールが。

Fellowships
MBA@UNC awards a limited number of partial-tuition fellowships to admitted applicants who have demonstrated excellence in many areas of their applications. No additional application is required for fellowship consideration; every applicant is automatically considered for fellowships. The number of fellowships granted and the monetary award amounts may vary each year.
Wow 別に自分で申請したわけではないが、余程気に入ってくれたのだと。
想像してみると、学校としてはこんなことを考えたのではないか？
- 30年近いワークキャリアがバラエティに富んでいた点 →授業自体や他の生徒たちに様々な視点やオジさんの知恵を与えてくれそう
- IT業界が長いこと →場所柄や学校的にあまりIT系人材がいないのでは？（例えば西海岸に比べて）
- 既にある程度のポジションにいること →逆に他のMBA取得者の就職先の一つになりうると打算？
- 日本人であること →UNC@MBAとして日本人を取り込みたい意図あり？（フルタイムMBAには毎年5〜8名くらいが入学しているようだが、オンラインMBAには殆どいなかったのでは？）
- 50代になってからの挑戦に対するリスペクト →アメリカってそういう部分をリスペクトする文化があるのでは？
- Executive向けのリカレント教育としてUNC@MBAのマーケティング →新規ニーズの掘り起こしのための広告塔
- July 2020コースの締め切りギリギリの出願だったため、割り当てFellowship予算消化の必要性 →厳格な予実管理があるのでは？ などなど....
どんな理由であれ、頼んでもいなかった学費補助をしてくれるというのだから、有り難く戴く。
勿論、通常以上の期待があるので簡単にドロップするわけにはいかないし、それなりのバリューも出さなければならない。
そういうプレッシャーも寧ろ力に変えてやっていきたい。
学生の大半は企業からの派遣で来て、クラスでもトップの成績を収めようと前のめりにガツガツやってくるに違いない。
こちらは個人払いの50過ぎのオジサン、同じ土俵で勝負してもしょうがない。
彼らにはできないであろう、現場でのリアルな体験・経験を語っていく。数え切れないくらいの失敗も恥ずかしげもなく披露する。
その結果、自分では想像もしていなかった考え方や示唆に触れられるであろう。
UNC@MBAの最初の授業は6/29、久々にドキドキとワクワクが止まらない。
